Ms. Chiu specializes in trademark law, including trademark preparation and prosecution, licensing, enforcement, portfolio development, and strategic intellectual property counseling. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chiu was an attorney at a boutique litigation firm in Los Angeles handling trademark-related litigation matters. While in Los Angeles, she also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she coached the Scott Moot Court Competition Team.
Ms. Chiu received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. At Loyola, she was a staff member and Production Editor for the International and Comparative Law Review, brief writer and oralist on the Scott Moot Court Competition Team, certified law clerk in the L.A. District Attorney’s Office Preliminary Hearing Unit, and also competed with the Byrne Trial Advocacy Competition Team. In addition, she served as a volunteer assessor for the Text Retrieval Conference (TREC), assisting in the development and review of electronic document retrieval technology. Ms. Chiu graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with bachelor degrees in Women’s Studies and Asian American Studies. While at UC Irvine, she received several merit-based scholarships, was on the Dean’s List, and became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest academic honor society.
Ms. Chiu is a member of the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia. She is licensed to practice before the state courts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California and the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit and the District of Columbia.
